If you haven't yet seen the brand new Alexander McQueen A/W 2011 collection, I suggest you get straight onto it. I have always be a huuuge fan of Lee and as I've said before I was devo when I he died, but to be honest I wasn't sure Sarah would be able to live up to what people like myself have come to expect from the label, which has always been astonishingly breath taking with every quirky piece of art that is shown at a show. But Sarah has officially proved herself in my opinion, to be the perfect person to carry on with what I see as McQueen's Legacy doing what only he could do only with a more feminine touch, and if i live to be half the designer she is, then I'll be sure to make something of myself. So this is me letting everyone know that my all time favorite brand is going to be okay, even if the genius behind it is gone, he still has a huge amount of influence in every show that we see and will continue to see.

Isn't it stunning?!!
I personally was absolutely amazed at the beauty of these gowns. Maybe when I'm a billionaire I'll have these in my cupboard, just looking at them makes me grateful to be alive to see it!

What I'm Doing

At the moment I'm at school, doing year 12 and to be honest all my classes are really quite easy, mostly because they're all arty classes. I'm doing Design Tech, where I'll be doing textiles and making a suit for my good friend Bennie that he'll model for my at the fashion awards later this year. I'm also doing Studio Art (of course) and my theme is (of course) wearable art, I don't have as many ideas as i need to since we're expected to hand in 10 pieces, I'm making a crazy cool gown for my beautiful model-looking friend Melissa and she will also be strutting her stuff on the catwalk at the fashion awards in Weribee. Ahhh, also I'm doing a revamp of dodgy looking secondhand clothes I picked up from the local oppy, that my prettyfull friends will receive because I don't think any of the stuff i plan to make will look very flattering on me.
So as i do them I'll post them up here for everyone to look at, if anyone even looks at this.
I would put pictures up of things I have done in the past few years but I'm not sure i have any decent photos..

My LMFF

As you all would know, the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is just around the corner, and I have finally figured out my outfit, which i also plan on wearing to my darling friend Mollys Debutante Ball. Why not recycle a good outfit?
After I got out of the dress though I realised I should have taken a few happy snaps to post on here for you all to see, and of course couldn't be bothered to put it back on. So, one day if I'm not feeling my usual lazy self I'll put it on and get some pictures so you can see what my style is acctually like because, well I havn't put any photos of myself up yet, not that I'm too keen about it, but that's cool it'll happen :D
I also felt it necessary to add a mood board i made at http://www.polyvore.com/ of what I would wear if I had the sufficient amount of cash for it and also the gorgeous bod.
 :)
Dress: Sass and Bide, Cuff: Chanel, Necklace: bergdorfgoodman.com, Earrings: cultstatus.com.au, Ring: House Of Harlow & Alexander McQueen, Clutch: Alexander McQueen and the amazing shoes are Iris Van Herpen and are extreamily exclusive with only 100 pairs been made, so if you have cash to splash you can find them at http://www.solestruck.com/iris-van-herpen-x-united-nude-iris-shoe-black/index.html

The [Mc]Queen himself

Living in rural Victoria, i generally don't get to the city as often as i would like. And on my visits i try to keep away from Collin Street, to save myself the heartache of not being able to afford the beautifully crafted items that the many designer stores have to offer.

However On my most recent visit I decided to go have a bit of a window shop, which is all i could my bank account would allow. The first store is the always classy Chanel, which has me longing for the classic "Flap Bag" even more than usual.

The next store down is Miss Louise, one that i had never been interested to look at before for some unknown reason because when i got a few window displays down i stopped in my tracks by the most beautiful thing i have ever come across, it was, in fact a display of clutches and shoes, by the oh so brilliant "Alexander McQueen"
I was i awe because-I'm a little ashamed to admit-i have never seen any of these in person before and although there was a sheet of glass between me and these works of art its a hell of a lot better than looking at them through a computer screen.

I later realised that it's been just over a year that Lee took his own life, so this is my tribute to the genius that was Lee Alexander McQueen, his legacy will live on.

King of the Gown!

I only recently stumbled across the amazing Elie Saab, and instantly fell in love with every gown in his Spring 2011 Couture collection. The thing that grabbed me the most was the amazing amount of detail each gown has, whether it be beads, lace or just the way the material is beautifully gathered. Each gown is so different to the other, yet still has the essence of sophisticated style that is withheld in every Elie Saab original.
Here are a few of my favorites.

Cherry. My first Blog :)

Hello, Anyone who has stumbled across my first blog, lucky you. I thought i would start off with a small introduction of myself, my name is Nicole, I'm 17 and live in a small town in southwest Victoria, Australia and am currently doing year 12, which is to be honest quite a big year. Lets hope i get through it without too much difficulties.
I Love fashion and consider it a form of art, i hope to one day be a fashion designer and am currently doing all i can to make that happen.
On the other hand I'd better explain what my blogs will be a bit about..
From the few fashion bloggers i have come across in my day i have noticed that they are cashed up women who can afford the best designer clothes, I'm going to be up front with you and tell you that i am most certainly not that kind of girl. I dont have the latest and greatest, but that doesn't mean i'm not passionate about fashion or that i dont know my stuff, so one thing you wont get from this blog is many photos of me parading around in my newest pair of Christian Louboutin's, much to my misfortune.
But that's apparently just the way it's supposed to be, my time will come. And I'm willing to work for it. So please enjoy anything i have to offer. Thank you. Xx
